Real Madrid have to make one of the hardest decisions regarding Endrick this summer.
Because we are not talking about a player who only has potential. Endrick already showed what he can do at Palmeiras. At a very young age, he became an important player for them, scored in big moments, won trophies and had a historic rise that made the whole football world believe he could become one of Brazil’s next big stars.
Then came the moments with Brazil. He scored against Spain, and then scored the winner against England at Wembley. Those performances at such a young age showed that Endrick was not just another talented youngster. He had something special.
And even at Real Madrid, whenever he got minutes, he showed flashes of that quality.
His Copa del Rey run was probably the best example. He didn’t get a huge amount of playing time, but when he did play, he made an impact. He scored against Leganés and then scored the winning goal against Real Sociedad in the semi-final. For a young striker playing limited minutes, those moments matter.
Then there was his loan spell at Lyon.
It was a good loan for Endrick. He got more minutes, experienced a different league, played in different positions and showed that he can contribute outside his natural striker role as well.
So why am I saying Madrid should consider selling him?
Because the problem is no longer Endrick's talent.
The problem is where does he actually get to play?
Mbappé is 27 now and will remain the main face of Madrid's attack for years. There are also other young attacking players competing for minutes. If Endrick stays for another season just to sit on the bench, Madrid are not simply wasting one season.
They are taking one full year away from his development.
And for a player like Endrick, that is dangerous.
I genuinely believe Endrick is one of the finest young talents we have seen in the last 15 years. He has the talent, the hard work, the passion and the right mentality. He is a respectful kid and, as far as we know, there are no unnecessary distractions or bad habits around him.
That is exactly why I don't see much point in sending him on another loan.
How many times can you do this?
Send him out for one more year, bring him back, and then ask the same question again: where does he fit?
Yes, there is one possible solution.
Play him at RW.
Endrick can play there. Diomande can also play there. But Madrid already have Silva, and Silva is exactly the type of player almost every coach will love. He is versatile, reliable and easy to trust.
And if Mourinho has to choose between Silva and Endrick for that role, I can easily see Silva getting the preference.
That makes Endrick's chances of becoming a regular even harder.
So, in my opinion, Madrid should seriously consider selling Endrick as early as possible if they don't have a clear plan for him.
And there is one very important condition.
Keep the rights.
If Madrid sell Endrick without a buy-back clause or any kind of future control, I would honestly consider it one of the biggest mistakes the club has made in the last 10 years.
Because Endrick is not an average young player. He is a special talent.
Right now, Madrid could probably demand €50-60M+ for him. But if they keep him for another one or two seasons without giving him enough minutes, his market value could easily fall towards €30-40M.
And then Madrid would have lost twice.
They would lose a huge talent and also lose a lot of his market value.
So for me, the decision is simple.
If you have a real plan for Endrick, keep him.
If Mourinho genuinely plans to use him regularly, even at RW, then keep him and give him the chance to grow.
But if he is going to spend another season playing 10-15 minutes here and there, sitting on the bench and watching the big games from the outside, then sell him.
Because keeping Endrick for another season without a real role basically means taking one year away from his career And Real Madrid should not do that to a talent like him.
But if Madrid let him go without any future control, there is a very real chance that one day we will look back and regret it badly.
